admin on December 3rd, 2009
I am having this problem. My brower has Adultfriendfinder, Travians(browser game), Finance Finder and a request to log into Facebook pop ups. I exit them all the time but they pop back up when i go to a different page. Sometimes 3 at a time. I assumed that it was probably adware, so i ran my various adware removers and malwarebytes. It found some stuff and i removed them but what ever it found wasn’t causing the pop ups. It is still popping up constantly whenever I am on the internet 5,6 at a time pop up.. How can I remove them for good?? Please help me!
Go to the Tools section of your browser. You should find a Pop Up Blocker there. If the box is unchecked, then check it and it should solve your problem.
you have a trojan virus.scan your computer.i suggest ad-aware or super anti spyware.both free.malawarebytes is another program
you should update your programs, turn off system restore then scan again.when done with your scans turn system restore back on.if you dont turn sytem restore off they will just load themselves up again on reboot

What the 2 guys above me said is all true, but depending on the virus, if your registry has been altered, you will have to edit your registry if their suggestions do not work. If you are a novice, editing your registry will give you a huge headache if the edits are complex.
My suggestion is to try the easy remedies such as using McAfee or Norton’s if you have them installed and do scans. You can try to block popups and stuff like that, but if they don’t work, you will need to back up your information and wipe out your disk and reload Windows. I hate to say it, but I know too many people that have paid $60 to remove those virus with the popup scan suggested "scanner programs", but they don’t always work on registries that have already been altered. If you don’t have Nortons or McAfee, I would buy either of those and scan your disk. You will need either of those anyway even IF you wipe out your disk and reload windows. You really need anti-viruses in this day and age as protection.
So in summary, I wouldn’t spend more than 1 hour trying the basics remedies. After an hour or so, I would buy Mcaffee or Nortons and install and scan. I would not buy those cheap scanners on the pop-ups. They are sometimes an end result of the virus. If scanning didn’t work, I would backup info and wipe out disk, then reinstall windows. It’s work, but you will at least have peace of mind that you are now virus free. Then I would reinstall nortons or mcafee.
DO NOT INSTALL BOTH MCAFEE AND NORTONS. ONLY ONE. Having both installed will make your computer extremely slow.
